A Different Kind of Blog

Very soon after creating the initial post for this blog, I realized just how "unreligious" posting would have to be. In fact, school got so busy that I quickly abandoned the idea of keeping even a weekly entry (as nice as it would have been) due to the sheer amount of time it takes me to craft even a single blog entry. I'm very meticulous about my wording and couldn't bear to compromise that for any kind of regularity.

Though the date of this post is August 6, I am actually writing it on December 28. Now that I have had the chance to stop, rest, and take stock of everything that has happened over the past semester, I have unearthed a desire to revisit this idea and write my blog after all. But, rather than writing in the traditional "blog as you go" sense, I've decided to take time over this lovely semester break to revisit the iCal and write about the highlights: the seriously profound moments, the super fun antics in and out of the classroom, and perhaps even some of the more difficult times. Though I will be writing from my point of view, I hope to include some feedback from my classmates and will be sure to credit them when and where due.

Even though all of the posts are being written in December and January, I am dating all of them according to the event being blogged about so as to give a proper sense of chronology. Some dates will not be exact, but pretty close approximations. Once I get caught up with the first semester, I hope to keep a more real time version for the second half, but I can make no promises. If nothing else I will post a big semester update in May 2010.

For now, please enjoy, and feel free to comment or question on anything. Thanks for reading!!

And Yet Another New Beginning

Greetings everyone and welcome to the christening entry of my USC blog. Here I will be chronicling my experiences at the USC Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television (SMPTV) program. Blogging has proven to be a successful and entertaining pastime both for me and for those reading. This is the sequel to the previous blog, which was about my ridiculous journey accross the country. Unlike the previous blog, this one will be kept PG-rated, though rest assured it will be just as amusing.

I do not project that this will be a religiously daily blog like the previous one, but moreso as needed and as I have the time. The next week will likely see a high volume of entries as the program starts and I learn more about what we're doing.

The program begins with orientation on August 5 (yes, that's tomorrow), and technology boot camp starting on August 6. Thanks once for joining me once again!
